Everything we do starts from the same method: cold water, plant-based soap and a proper hand wash. Pickup and delivery are always free, anywhere in Manhattan.
Hand-knotted Oriental and Persian rugs are washed the way they were made to be washed: by hand, in cold water, with a mild plant-based soap. We test every rug for dye stability first, then wash and rinse it thoroughly so no residue is left in the pile.
Wool holds soil deep in the pile where vacuuming cannot reach. We dust, hand wash and rinse area rugs in cold water so the fibres stay full and the rug keeps its shape. No hot water, no rotary machines, no shrinkage.
Silk and delicate rugs get a slower, softer version of our wash: cool water, a soap mild enough for natural fibres, and hand work only. These pieces are never batch-processed and never exposed to heat.
Pet accidents soak through to the foundation of a rug, which is why surface cleaning never solves the smell. We flush the rug thoroughly in cold water so the source of the odor is removed, and treat stains by hand before the wash.
Worn fringe, unravelling edges and small holes get worse the longer they are left. We repair and secure edges, re-bind sides and restore fringe by hand so the rug stays sound for everyday use.
You do not need to carry a rug anywhere. We pick up from apartments, walk-ups and doorman buildings across Manhattan at a time that suits you, and deliver the clean rug back the same way. Pickup and delivery are always free.
